Florida Panthers (7-9-2) at Buffalo Sabres (12-4-1), 7 p.m.

The first-place Buffalo Sabres will aim for a fourth straight victory when they welcome the Florida Panthers for this evening's battle at HSBC Arena.

The Sabres lost consecutive outings for the first time this season from November 6-7, but have responded with three straight victories. Buffalo has won four in a row on two occasions already this year and can match that season-high winning streak tonight.

Buffalo hasn't played since Saturday, when it notched a close road win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Thomas Vanek and Paul Gaustad both scored on the power play as the Sabres edged Philadelphia, 3-2, at Wachovia Center.

Kings rally past Panthers

Defenseman Jack Johnson scored the only goal in the shootout, and the Los Angeles Kings rallied to beat the Florida Panthers 4-3 Monday night.

Johnson and Jarrett Stoll scored power-play goals, and Randy Jones scored short-handed for the Kings, who came back from a 2-0 deficit and finished a five-game road trip at 3-2.

Jonathan Quick had 26 saves for Los Angeles, which beat Florida for the fifth straight time.

Jakub Voracek scored the game-winning goal in the fourth round of the shootout, as the Columbus Blue Jackets edged the Edmonton Oilers, 3-2, at Nationwide Arena. With the shootout tied, 1-1, after three rounds, Voracek skated towards Edmonton goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin and fired a wrister off the inside of the right post and into the back of the net. It all came down to Gilbert Brule for Edmonton, but his wrister was stopped by Mathieu Garon. Anton Stralman had a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets, who closed a four-game homestand with a 3-1-0 mark. Antoine Vermette had the other goal for Columbus, which got 23 saves from Garon. Lubomir Visnovsky tallied a goal and an assist for the Oilers, who ended a five-game road trip with a 1-2-2 record. Ales Hemsky also lit the lamp for Edmonton, which got 30 saves from Khabibulin.

Recap: Boston vs. Florida

Cory Stillman scored the game-winner in the fourth round of the shootout, while Tomas Vokoun stopped 40 shots for his 34th career shutout, as the Florida Panthers edged the Boston Bruins, 1-0, at TD Garden.

The shootout went into a fourth round after the first three went scoreless. Michael Ryder was the shooter for Boston in the final round, but Vokoun made a great glove save on his attempt. Stillman then skated toward the net before making a quick move to the right and sliding a backhander past Tim Thomas.

"It's a breakaway, and you have to read and react. It is the first time I shot all year. You read what the other guys say and hope for the best. Both goalies played extremely well. Once you get to the shootout, obviously you're going to see one goal will be the difference. Today, it went into the fourth round, and I think that is the first time we've done that," Stillman said.

Recap: Florida vs. NY Islanders

Nathan Horton potted the decisive goal in the fourth round of the shootout, as the Florida Panthers defeated the New York Islanders, 5-4, at BankAtlantic Center.

With each team having tallied once in the first three rounds, Horton's wrister put the Panthers in front. Tomas Vokoun then denied Sean Bergenheim to preserve the victory.

"It has definitely worked in the past. So I was hoping it would work again, and it did," said Horton of his game-winner.
