Brian Boucher stopped 37 shots to post his first victory of the season as Philadelphia withstood a late flurry to top Los Angeles, 3-2, at Staples Center.

Mika Pyorala produced his first career goal for the Flyers, who began a five- game road trip by recording their seventh win in eight games. Mike Richards and James van Riemsdyk also scored and the Flyers withstood a 21-5 shot differential in the third period.

"The boys rallied around and had a great second period and made the difference," said Boucher. "I thought their third period was pretty strong. They threw everything at the net and I think they had over 20 shots in the third. It was a strong test there, but we were able to hold the fort and get the win."

Jarret Stoll and Drew Doughty tallied for the Kings, who had won three of four coming in. Jonathan Quick allowed three goals on 20 shots in defeat.

Van Riemsdyk put the Flyers ahead 3-1 on a power play 1:47 into the third, as he followed up Braydon Coburn's shot off the boards and snuck a backhander home.

Doughty's power-play score with 7:51 to play drew the Kings within a goal, and Los Angeles buzzed Boucher for the remainder of the contest.

Philly had to withstand a half-dozen faceoffs in its own end during the final 90 seconds, and survived a close call with 16.5 seconds to go as Anze Kopitar's floater from the right boards trickled through Boucher's pads and slid past the left post.

Stoll's sharp-angle shot from in front of the goal line on the right wing put LA ahead with 5:07 left in the first period.

Pyorala followed up Scott Hartnell's shot from the top of the right circle and chipped it past Quick for his first career tally 7:52 into the second period.

The Flyers moved ahead with 1:05 to play, as a Giroux pass from behind the net found Richards for a successful one-timer.

"I think we are playing decent but those two breakdowns in the second period cost us goals," said Kopitar. "They sure gained some momentum there. We had some chances but that (first period) is the time of the game when we want to be aggressive and get a two goal lead and we didn't. We were unfortunate to not get a good bounce into the net there at the end."
