Henrik Sedin has spent most of his NHL career with Vancouver setting up twin Daniel for goals. However, should his brother return to the ice tonight, he may find the roles reversed.

Daniel Sedin could return to the lineup for the first time in 19 games tonight when the Canucks host the Chicago Blackhawks at GM Place.

Vancouver has been without Daniel Sedin since he suffered a broken foot versus Montreal on October 7. He has netted at least 29 goals in each of the last three seasons and has four assists without a goal in four games this year.

Daniel Sedin returns for Canucks

Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin made his return to the ice Sunday night after missing 18 games due to a broken foot.

Sedin took a shift early in the first period of Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. He played just over 18 minutes and had three shots on goal.

"Skating was fine out there. I wasn't that tired," said Sedin. "It's just a matter of getting the timing back."

Henrik Sedin scored twice and Roberto Luongo made 43 saves, as Vancouver took it to Chicago in a 5-1 victory at General Motors Place.

Daniel Sedin posted a goal and two assists, while Alex Burrows continued to pile up the points with three assists to extend his scoring streak to 11 games.

Steve Bernier and Mikael Samuelsson also lit the lamp for the Canucks, who claimed a fourth straight win and are 11-2-2 over their last 15 games.

Flames shut out Red Wings again

Miika Kiprusoff made 40 saves for his second shutout of the season and 32nd overall, leading the visiting Calgary Flames to a 3-0 victory over the slumping Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.

Detroit hasn't scored in 153 minutes, 22 seconds. The Red Wings have been shut out in consecutive games for the first time since December 2001 and the first time at home since 1977. On Wednesday night, they lost 2-0 to Atlanta.

Jamie Lundmark and Olli Jokinen each had a goal and an assist, Nigel Dawes also scored, and Jarome Iginla had two assists.

Minnesota Wild (15-13-3) at Vancouver Canucks (17-14-0), 10 p.m.

The Vancouver Canucks will aim for back-to-back wins at the start of their longest homestand of the season when they welcome the surging Minnesota Wild for a Northwest Division battle at General Motors Place.

The Canucks ended a two-game slide when they began an epic eight-game homestand with Thursday's victory over the Atlanta Thrashers. All told, it was the third win in five games for Vancouver this month.

Daniel Sedin registered his third career hat trick to lead the Canucks to the 4-2 decision over the Thrashers.
