Canucks' Daniel Sedin out four-to-six weeks

Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin will miss the next four-to-six weeks with a broken foot suffered in Wednesday's game against Montreal.

Sedin took an Alex Edler shot off his foot on Wednesday. The veteran stayed in the game but had a cast put on the foot Friday after X-rays revealed the fracture.

The 29-year-old has played his entire nine-year career in Vancouver and has never missed more than seven games. In 82 tilts last season, the second overall pick in the 1999 Draft scored 31 goals and assisted on 51 more.

Daniel Sedin and Mason Raymond each had a goal and an assist, leading Vancouver to a 4-3 win over Minnesota in the second contest of the Canucks' eight-game homestand.

Henrik Sedin added three assists, marking the sixth consecutive game he has posted multiple helpers. Alexandre Burrows and Ryan Kesler also scored for the Canucks, who improved to 12-4-0 at home this season.

"That was big for us," Henrik Sedin said of the team's three power play goals. "We had a lot of chances of late, and the puck hasn't gone in for us, but tonight it did."

Henrik Sedin has spent most of his NHL career with Vancouver setting up twin Daniel for goals. However, should his brother return to the ice tonight, he may find the roles reversed.

Daniel Sedin could return to the lineup for the first time in 19 games tonight when the Canucks host the Chicago Blackhawks at GM Place.

Vancouver has been without Daniel Sedin since he suffered a broken foot versus Montreal on October 7. He has netted at least 29 goals in each of the last three seasons and has four assists without a goal in four games this year.
