Offshore charters are returning with yellow and black-fin tuna. The near-shore and in-shore charter boats continue to have terrific results, returning with puppy drum, speckled trout, red drum, flounder, stripers, and a few Spanish and king mackerel. Anglers are still hauling in citation sized red and puppy drum. The bluefish bite is still dependable all the way down the shoreline. Cape Lookout/Bogue Inlet

Pier anglers continue to find success, pulling up large sea mullet and citation sized red drum. Offshore fishing has reached its fall peak, with boats returning laden with grouper, king mackerel, sea bass and grunts. Red and black drum continue to make up the backwater fishing experience with very few speckled trout still hanging round. Surf and pier anglers continue to haul in bluefish, red drum, sea mullet and flounder. Offshore trips are at a seasonal peak, with great catches of snapper, grouper and king mackerel.
