Offshore winds and rain continue to keep many boats in, but the charters that have gone out return with blackfin tuna, wahoo and a few king mackerel. Cape Lookout/Bogue Inlet

Pier and surf anglers are catching sea mullet, speckled trout, black drum, and a few pufferfish. Trout, sea mullet and a few small flounder are biting in the sound. Offshore anglers are catching king mackerel, red drum, albacore, flounder and sea bass. The few boats that have gotten out to the Gulf Stream have returned with mahi mahi, wahoo and blackfin tuna. Surf and pier anglers are hauling in speckled trout, red and black drum, pufferfish, and a few bluefish. Offshore trips are catching a few small king mackerel, and false albacore along with the seasonal catch of snapper and sea bass. Crappie fishing has moved to deeper waters around the lake. Fish are being caught in 20-28 feet of water, but are still biting well on minnows near the brush piles.
