Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Blache broke his media silence Thursday to defend the man who pays his salary, saying "Enough's enough" when it comes to criticism of owner Dan Snyder.

Blache said he was moved to speak after reading comments made by Hall of Fame running back John Riggins, who called Snyder a "bad guy" whose "heart is dark" in an interview for Showtime's "Inside the NFL."

"That's totally, totally untrue," Blache said. "And the problem is the fans don't get to know Mr. Snyder like we do, and so they get an impression of things that are written and things people say."

Snyder has been a popular target for criticism from fans, former players and pundits for the state of the Redskins, who are 2-5 and have won only two playoff games in his 10 years of ownership. Snyder broke his own media silence earlier this week to apologize to the fans on behalf of the organization.

Ex-Jaguar's shooter convicted: A jury has convicted Tyrone Hartsfield of attempted murder in the shooting of former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Richard Collier.

The six-person jury deliberated 2 hours and 45 minutes before returning its verdict against 33-year-old Hartsfield at the end of a nine-day trial.

Hartsfield faces up to life in prison. The jury will be asked to determine if he was also guilty of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Collier watched much of the closing arguments while seated in his wheelchair in the courtroom gallery.

He was shot six times as he waited in his car outside a Jacksonville apartment house last year. Collier was paralyzed, and his left leg was amputated.

NOW wants Cable suspended: The National Organization for Women says Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable should be suspended while the team investigates allegations he has a history of violent behavior toward women.

The NOW statement was first reported by USA Today.

Former Vikings DE James arrested: Former Vikings first-round pick Erasmus James was arrested early Thursday after punching a friend in the face at a bar in Madison.

Authorities say 27-year-old James began fighting with a friend after James tried to order a drink at a popular bar near Wisconsin's campus after closing time.

James was released from the Dane County Jail. A prosecutor will decide if a battery charge is warranted.

A former Wisconsin standout at defensive end, James played three injury-plagued seasons for the Vikings after being picked 18th overall in 2005. He was traded to Washington last year and played in five games before being cut in December.
