It took a half to kick-start the offense, but the Carolina RailHawks scored twice in the second half to beat the Charleston Battery 2-0 on Saturday night at SAS Soccer Park.The win was RailHawks goalie Chris McClellan's sixth shutout this season.In the 66th minute, midfielder Joey Worthen passed to Philip Long, who booted the ball toward the far post and past Charleston goalkeeper Keith Wiggans. It was Long's second goal of the season."I knew [Worthen] would look for a little dump-off pass," Long said. "I was just in the right place at the right time."Carolina added its second goal after Connally Edozien was taken down in the box by the Battery's Jordan Hughes in the 77th minute and the RailHawks were awarded a penalty kick.Kupono Low stuck the ball into the lower right corner for the goal.The RailHawks host Bavarian SC on Tuesday in the second round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The winner will take on the defending champion Chicago Fire in the third round.
