Wake Forest will begin spring football drills on Wednesday, with practice sessions continuing until the spring game on April 19.
The Deacons, 9-4 last year and champions of the Meineke Car Care Bowl, are scheduled to practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the week and on Saturday mornings over the next four weeks.
The spring game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at the Doc Martin Practice Complex. The Deacons will practice on campus with the exception of two Saturday sessions on April 5 and April 12, which will be held at BB&T Field.
Wake Forest's Pro Timing Day will be held on Tuesday.

GAMECOCKS RECEIVERS WANTS JURY TRIAL: A Cayce police officer says that a South Carolina receiver who was charged with marijuana possession has asked for a jury trial. Police Lieutenant Michael Gearon says an attorney for Dion Lecorn made the request Thursday to a city magistrate. No date for the trial was immediately set.
Lecorn was arrested Feb. 17 at an apartment complex. A police report says the 19-year-old freshman receiver and two other men told police they had been smoking marijuana in a car at the complex.

CAMPBELL 9, STETSON 3: Justin Lilly threw 8 1/3 strong innings, and John Watlington had four RBIs to lift visiting Campbell (7-11, 5-5 Atlantic Sun) over Stetson (9-11, 2-5) for the first time since 2005.
ST. AUGUSTINE'S 14-11, BAPTIST BIBLE 7-1: Josh Bishop went 6-for-7 at the plate for host St. Aug's (11-10), which had a total of 38 hits in the doubleheader sweep over Baptist Bible.
N.C. CENTRAL TO PLAY TWO TODAY: N.C. Central has rescheduled its baseball doubleheader against Elizabeth City State, originally slated for Thursday, to today. The first game will begin at 1 p.m. at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
WRESTLING
TOP-RANKED IOWA LEADS AFTER OPENING SESSION: Top-ranked Iowa advanced seven of nine qualifiers and held a one-point lead after the first round of the NCAA wrestling championship in St. Louis.
Iowa, 21-1 in dual meets this season, is seeking its 21st title but first since 2000 and had 18 points. Central Michigan was second with 17, and Iowa State third with 16, followed by Minnesota and Nebraska (15.5 points each).
