Shaw announced at a news conference today that Cleo Hill Jr. will take over as its new head men’s basketball coach.

Hill, 41, leaves his head coaching duties at Cheyney to replace Robert Brickey, who was fired at the end of this season.

Hill, whose father Cleo Hill, Sr., was inducted into the CIAA Hall of Fame as a player, returns to Shaw after serving as an assistant coach with the Bears from 2000-2002.

“It feels good to see a lot of familiar faces,” he said. “Good times here. Good people.”

He said he returns as a seasoned coach and looks forward to the support of the administration in helping to rebuild a program that finished 5-23 overall this season.
