Duke's Lorraine Quinn and North Carolina's Yael Averbuch have been invited to train with the U-23 women's national team as they travel to Germany for matches against Germany's U-23 national team and a women's Bundesliga club team.

* The Carolina RailHawks' women's team tuned up for its home opener with a 7-0 win over the U.S. Armed Forces women's team in a friendly on Tuesday night at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. N.C. State forward Lindsay Vera had two goals for Carolina, which plays its first-ever home game on Friday against the Atlanta Silverbacks.
