FIVE TO WATCH

Chip Beck, 53

The Fayetteville native is a three-time Ryder Cup participant returning to the SAS Championship for the fourth time.

Curtis Strange, 54

The Morehead City resident and three-time Wake Forest All-American won 16 tournaments during the 1980s.

Jim Thorpe, 60

The Roxboro native has won 13 times on the Champions Tour and finished fifth in 2008.

Scott Hoch, 54

The Raleigh native and Wake Forest graduate makes his fourth appearance in the tournament. A two-time Ryder Cup participant, he finished 10th in the SAS Championship in 2008.

Mike Goodes, 53

The Browns Summit resident and University of North Carolina graduate competed in 2008 as a non-exempt player and often qualified through early-week qualifying. Still, he finished the season 29th on the tour's money list and became fully exempt for all 2009 events.
