CIAA to play championship in Durham

DURHAM - The CIAA football title game will return to Durham, the conference announced today.

Durham has hosted six of eight CIAA championship games since they were resurrected in 2000. This year's game with be held on Nov. 8 at Durham County Stadium.

Tommy Hunt, chairman of the Durham County Stadium Authority, said county officials and the authority were happy to have the game in Durham his year. "Durham County Stadium hopes their choice of Durham County will be an ongoing relationship," he said in a news release.

Shaw won the 2007 championship in overtime in Charlotte, upsetting Virginia Union. Both Shaw and Virginia Union went on to post-season play.
