The goal for all of the teams is to keep playing into late December. The ACC has ties with nine bowl games for this season; a team must have 6 wins to be bowl eligible. The lineup:

DEC. 20:Congressional Bowl, Washington, D.C.,ESPN, 11 a.m.

DEC. 27: Meineke Car Care Bowl, Charlotte, ESPN, 1 p.m.

DEC. 27: Champs Sports Bowl,Orlando, Fla., ESPN, 4:30 p.m.

DEC. 27: Emerald Bowl, San Francisco, ESPN, 8 p.m.

DEC. 30:Roady's Humanitarian Bowl, Boise, Idaho, ESPN,4:30 p.m.

DEC. 31: Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, Nashville, Tenn., ESPN, 3:30 p.m.

DEC. 31: Chick-fil-A Bowl, Atlanta, Ga., ESPN, 7:30 p.m.

JAN. 1: Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, Jacksonville, Fla., CBS, 1 p.m.

JAN. 1: FedEx Orange Bowl,Miami, Fla., FOX, 8:30 p.m.

ACC BOWL SELECTION ORDER

The order of selection for the ACC bowl games is set in advance, with priority going to the Orange Bowl because it is part of the national BCS arrangement. The pecking order:

1. FedEx Orange Bowl

2. Chick-fil-A Bowl

3. Konica Minolta Gator Bowl

4. Champs Sports Bowl

5-7. Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl

5-7. Meineke Car Care Bowl

5-7. Emerald Bowl

8. Roady's Humanitarian Bowl

9. Congressional Bowl

ACC BOWL RECORDS

Eight ACC teams went to bowl games last year. Here are all-time school bowl records with the last appearance in a bowl game and the result.

BOSTON COLLEGE: 13-6 (.684), 2007, beat Michigan St. in Champs Sports

CLEMSON: 15-15 (.500), 2007, lost to Auburn in Chick-fil-A

DUKE: 3-5 (.375), 1994, lost to Wisconsin in Hall of Fame

FLORIDA STATE: 21-14-2 (.595), 2007, lost to Kentucky in Gaylord Hotels Music City

GEORGIA TECH: 22-14 (.611), 2007, lost to Fresno State in Roady's Humanitarian Bowl

MARYLAND: 9-11-2 (.454), 2007, lost to Oregon State in Emerald

MIAMI: 19-14 (.578), 2006, beat Nevada in MPC Computers

NORTH CAROLINA: 12-13 (.480), 2004, lost to Boston College in Continental Tire

N.C. STATE: 12-10-1 (.543), 2005, beat South Florida in Meineke Car Care

VIRGINIA: 7-10 (.412), 2007, lost to Texas Tech in Konica Minolta Gator

VIRGINIA TECH: 7-14 (.333), 2007, lost to Kansas in FedEx Orange

WAKE FOREST: 5-3 (.625), 2007, beat Connecticut in Meineke Car Care
