Schelotto lifts Crew to 3-0 win

Guillermo Barros Schelotto scored and had two assists for Columbus in the Crew's 3-0 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night at Columbus, Ohio.

Defender Chad Marshall and midfielder Brad Evans also scored, and Will Hesmer made two saves for his fifth shutout. Columbus (11-6-4) equaled the 37 points it had in 30 matches last season.

D.C. UNITED 3, RAPIDS 0: Louis Crayton had his second shutout in three matches, and Joe Vide and Quavas Kirk scored their first career goals as D.C. United beat the Colorado Rapids 3-0 on Saturday night at Washington.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE: Dallas-born Fulham defender Brede Hangeland inflicted a shock 1-0 loss on Premier League title hopeful Arsenal on Saturday, and Steven Gerrard executed a winner deep into injury time to complete Liverpool's 2-1 comeback win over Middlesbrough.

In other matches, Stoke beat Aston Villa 3-2, Sunderland won 2-1 at Tottenham, Everton overcame West Brom 2-1, Newcastle defeated Bolton 1-0, and Hull held Blackburn 1-1.

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE: United States forward DaMarcus Beasley had an injury-time winner for Rangers ruled offside, resulting in a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen.

Beasley had beaten Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield at the near post, and TV replays suggested it should have been allowed.

Celtic went to the top of the Scottish Premier League with a 3-0 win over Falkirk.

In other matches it was: Hearts 2, St. Mirren 1; Inverness 1, Hibernian 1; Kilmarnock 1 vs. Hamilton 0; and Motherwell 1, Dundee United 1.
