The Durham Bulls and Carolina Mudcats both start their playoff runs on the road this week.
In minor league baseball, this actually means they have home-field advantage.
Both Triangle teams will start a best-of-five series, playing a pair of games on the road before returning for as many as three home games.
The Bulls start their series tonight in Louisville, Ky., where they'll play the Bats in the first round of the International League's Governor's Cup playoffs. The second game will be played Thursday in Louisville.
The Bulls return to Durham for games on Friday, and, if necessary, Saturday and Sunday.
The Mudcats also play tonight, facing the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx in Jackson, Tenn., in the first round of the Southern League playoffs. The second game is also in Tennessee on Thursday night.
The first Mudcats home game would be Saturday, with additional games Sunday and Monday at Five County Stadium, if necessary.
