Carolina advanced to the championship series by virtue of a 4-2 victory at Five County over West Tenn to complete a three-game sweep of the Diamond Jaxx. The Braves shut out Birmingham 3-0 on Saturday night to finish a three-game sweep of their own.
The Mudcats are advancing to their fourth championship series; they won in 1995 and 2003. The Braves are entering their first title series since relocating from Greenville, S.C., to Mississippi.
