Florida quarterback Tim Tebow played the last two-plus games with a hyperextended knee, but coach Urban Meyer said Thursday that last year's Heisman Trophy winner has fully recovered from the injury.
Tebow hurt his knee Oct. 4 against Arkansas, tweaking it late in the third quarter while chasing a defender following his first interception of the season.
Meyer said he didn't know about the injury until earlier this week, when he spotted Tebow in the training room and the junior told him his knee was feeling better.
"He tweaked it a little bit, but he's never missed any time," Meyer said Thursday, two days before the fifth-ranked Gators play No. 8 Georgia in Jacksonville.
Tebow has completed 30 of 41 passes for 473 yards, with five touchdowns and one interception since his injury. He also has carried 22 times for 71 yards and three scores.
SPILLER PROBABLE: Injured Clemson running back C.J. Spiller is expected to return to action against Boston College.
Spiller pulled his hamstring in the opening half against Wake Forest on Oct. 9 and has not played since. The Tigers lost to Wake Forest and Georgia Tech in his absence.
Spiller is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Eagles.
Also, freshman backup quarterback Willy Korn was also listed as probable. Korn made his first career start against the Yellow Jackets on Oct. 18 but left in the opening quarter after taking a hit as he threw a pass. Exams showed a bone bruise in his throwing shoulder.
FSU SITS SURRENCY: Florida State receiver Corey Surrency will miss Saturday's game at Georgia Tech for disciplinary reasons.
It's the second time in as many weeks that coach Bobby Bowden has suspended a receiver. Freshman Bert Reed missed last Saturday's win over Virginia Tech for skipping classes.
No reason was given for Surrency's suspension on Thursday.
Surrency, a 24-year-old junior college transfer, had three touchdown catches in Florida State's first two games of the season.
VOLS SUSPEND CORNERBACK: Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer says cornerback Brent Vinson has been suspended for a second time this season.
Fulmer announced Thursday at the Vols' practice that the sophomore will sit out Saturday night against South Carolina for an unspecified violation of team rules.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Vinson was also suspended for Tennessee's season opener at UCLA on Sept. 1 for an unspecified academic problem.
MISSISSIPPI STATE KICKER OUT: Mississippi State coach Sylvester Croom has suspended kicker Eric Richards indefinitely for breaking team rules.
Croom did not specify what rule Richards broke.
Richards, a redshirt freshman from Vicksburg, Miss., has handled kickoff duties occasionally this season, but injuries have kept him sidelined much of the year.
