Jeff Adrien scored 17 points and No. 5 Connecticut beat No. 25 West Virginia 61-55 on Tuesday night at Morgantown, W.Va.

Hasheem Thabeet added 13 points and 13 rebounds for Connecticut (13-1, 2-1 Big East). With the victory, Huskies coach Jim Calhoun moved past Lefty Driesell into seventh place on the NCAA career wins list with 787.

West Virginia (11-3, 1-1) had a five-game winning streak snapped and lost for the first time at home this season.

NO. 1 CONNECTICUT 83, SOUTH FLORIDA 37: Maya Moore scored 24 points as Connecticut (14-0, 1-0 Big East) rolled past host South Florida (13-3, 0-2).

NO. 10 LOUISVILLE 76, SETON HALL 47: Angel McCoughtry had 28 points and 13 rebounds to lead host Louisville (15-1, 2-0 Big East) past Seton Hall (11-3, 0-2).

AREA MEN

ST. AUGUSTINE'S 80, ST. PAUL'S 55: Shaun Washum had 16 points and Chris Jordan added 12 as visiting St. Aug's (8-4, 5-2 CIAA) topped St. Paul's (2-6, 0-3).

COLGATE 68, N.C. CENTRAL 58: Ben Johnson scored 18 points to lead visiting Colgate (4-9) over winless NCCU (0-17). Jamar Briscoe led NCCU with 15 points and Bryan Ayala added 13.

ECSU 74, SHAW 68: Raheem Smith scored 18 points and Rodney Callwood had 16 for the host Bears (3-9, 1-4 CIAA) in the loss to Elizabeth City State (10-1, 4-1).

ACC/AREA WOMEN

RICHMOND 45, WAKE FOREST 33: Wake Forest shot just 26 percent from the floor as host Richmond (12-3) handed the Deacons (12-1) their first loss of the season.

SHAW 76, ELIZABETH CITY STATE 62: Celanese Bozeman and Joyce Freeman scored 18 points each to power host Shaw (6-5, 3-1 CIAA) past ECSU (1-8, 0-4).

ST. PAUL'S 66, ST. AUGUSTINE'S 64: Juantale Cook hit a layup with eight seconds left to break a 64-64 tie and lift host St. Paul's (4-7, 1-2) past St. Augustine's (5-6, 2-4).

Keyona Bryant had 19 points to lead St. Aug's.

AVERETT 55, PEACE 44: Christy Freeman had 13 points for Peace (4-5, 1-2 USA South), which lost on the road to Averett (5-3, 1-0).

N.C. WESLEYAN 57, MEREDITH 42: Essence Chambers had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lift visiting Wesleyan (2-5, 1-0 USA South) past Meredith (4-6, 0-3). Megan Rahn led Meredith with 11 points.
