WAKE FOREST -- Wake Forest-Rolesville showed why it is king of the Cap Seven.

The Cougars dominated Millbrook 48-0 Friday night to capture their fourth consecutive conference title.

First-year coach Reggie Lucas took over the reins from Earl Smith after serving as defensive coordinator, and the program has not lost stride.

"Just being able to repeat four years is incredible," Lucas said.

Wake Forest-Rolesville improved to 10-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

Defense and special teams set the tone for the Cougars. The WF-R defense intercepted Millbrook (5-5, 2-3) three times, twice in the red zone, and posted its sixth shutout of the season.

Darren Kirby blocked a 42-yard field-goal attempt on Millbrook's opening drive.

Then, early in the second quarter, Will Braddy intercepted Millbrook's Trey McFarland and returned it 12 yards for a touchdown.

On their next possession, the Wildcats punted to the Cougars, and Kirby raced down the sideline for a 60-yard touchdown. Wake Forest-Rolesville led 14-0 following the extra point.

The Cougars got the ball back with two minutes remaining in the half, and Trea Jones capped the scoring drive on an 18-yard TD run with 15 seconds left for a 21-0 lead, following the extra point.

The Cougars carried that momentum into the second half, scoring four more touchdowns.

"It's nice to see the offense in the last four weeks playing lights-out," Lucas said.
