OBSERVATIONS

N.C. State coach Sidney Lowe will be facing his alma mater - of sorts. Although Lowe starred for the Wolfpack's 1983 NCAA title team, he completed his degree at St. Paul's in Lawrenceville, Va., after he took the State head coaching job.

This will mark the Wolfpack's only exhibition game; earlier it faced Richmond in a closed scrimmage. Under NCAA rules, scrimmages against Division I teams cannot be publicized.
