Scott Hopson is making himself right at home outside the 3-point arc. No. 10 Tennessee is making itself at home in the Virgin Islands.
Hopson hit four 3-pointers and scored 25 points Friday, and the Volunteers rolled to a 105-66 rout of East Carolina in the first round of the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
Tennessee (3-0) plays DePaul (2-0) in the second round Sunday. The Blue Demons upset NCAA Tournament participant Northern Iowa 60-52 earlier in the day. Northern Iowa (1-1) will play ECU today.
East Carolina (1-3), led by Brock Young's 15 points, managed just one field goal over the final 12:01 to trail 43-27 at intermission.

No. 7 Purdue 74, South Dakota St. 63: E'Twaun Moore scored 22 points as Purdue beat South Dakota State in the first round of the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.
Robbie Hummel added 14 points despite missing much of the action because of foul trouble, and JaJuan Johnson had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Boilermakers (2-0). who will play St. Joseph's on Sunday night.
Clint Sargent led the Jackrabbits (2-1) with 16 points.
No. 15 Ohio St. 76, No. 13 California 70: Evan Turner had 26 points and 14 rebounds, his fourth double-double in as many games, as Ohio State won the third-place game of the 2K Sports Classic in New York.
The Buckeyes (3-1) used a 21-3 run spanning halftime to take a 52-28 lead with 15:40 to play.
The Bears (2-2) took advantage of Ohio State's sudden ballhandling problems to get within 63-57 with 5:09 left, but Turner scored eight of the Buckeyes' next 10 points. Jerome Randle had 26 points for California.
No. 15 Michigan 77, Houston Baptist 55: Manny Harris scored 25 points, and DeShawn Sims added 22 to help host Michigan beat Houston Baptist (0-4)
Harris and Sims each had 12 points during a decisive 29-13 run at the end of the first half that put Michigan (2-0) in front for good.

Florida International 83, N.C. Central 73: Marvin Roberts finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Florida International over visiting N.C. Central.
Phil Gary added 18 points and six assists for the Golden Panthers (2-3), while Antoine Watson contributed 14 points and six assists. The Eagles (1-3) were led by Vincent Davis with 23 points and nine rebounds. C.J. Wilkerson added 21 points.

No. 10 Texas 96, North Texas 52: Kat Nash scored 20 points, and host Texas shook off a blowout loss to Connecticut by beating winless North Texas (0-3).
Ashley Gayle finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks (for Texas (2-1). She also tried to dunk on a fast break in the second half but missed.
