The National Collegiate Scouting Association loves Duke enough to rank the school No. 1 among NCAA Division I schools for a third consecutive year.
The NCSA takes a number of factors into consideration while determining which school is best, including Director's Cup rankings, U.S. News & World Report rankings and NCAA graduation success rate.
"This is a tremendous achievement for our department," Duke athletics director Joe Alleva said. "... This ranking shows we're succeeding both competitively and academically."
The NCSA has been publishing its rankings for four years. Notre Dame, Stanford, Northwestern and Harvard rounded out the top five in Division I. ACC schools Wake Forest (eighth) and Boston College (ninth) also were ranked in the top ten.
Among all NCAA divisions, Duke ranked third overall behind Division III schools Williams College and Amherst College.
