Trailing 7-3 to East Carolina in the second quarter, Victor Harris picked off a Brett Clay pass and returned it 17 yards for the touchdown that put the Hokies ahead for good. A punt by Brent Bowden was downed at ECU's 1-yard line prior to the Harris interception.
Virginia Tech managed only 33 total rushing yards on 31 attempts in the 17-7 victory.
