Mike Williams worked with the Tennessee scout team Thursday, enjoying what he hopes will be his final move to show what he can do in the NFL.
"It's a fresh start. It's moving forward. People are going to talk about, 'He's this. He's that. Been here, been there.' The past doesn't matter. I'm moving forward, and I'll just make the most of this opportunity," the receiver said.
"I'm moving forward. Yeah, I took my bumps early in my career. I'm only 23. It's an opportunity with a team that has a bright future and is moving forward, something I'm not used to being around."
At least not as a pro.
The Titans are the third team for the former Southern California receiver since Detroit drafted him 10th overall in 2005. But the Lions traded Williams to Oakland this offseason, and the Raiders released him Oct. 30, two days after the receiver dropped a late third-down pass in a loss to Tennessee.
Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow, coached Williams at Southern California.
SINGLETARY OUT OF BAYLOR COACHING SEARCH: Mike Singletary is staying with the 49ers for now.
Singletary pulled himself from consideration for the Baylor head coaching opening Thursday. He said he wasn't offered the job at his alma mater, but met with Baylor officials for five hours Tuesday.
"My preference has always been that I wanted to stay in the NFL," said Singletary, who passed up an opportunity to coach his son, a redshirt outside linebacker at Baylor, in order to keep his NFL head coaching prospects alive.
MCNABB MISSES ANOTHER PRACTICE: Donovan McNabb missed practice again Thursday because of ankle and thumb injuries, and it's uncertain whether the five-time Pro Bowl quarterback will play for the Eagles against New England on Sunday.
COLTS' HARRISON OUT, GONZALEZ IN: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison missed his fifth straight game with a bruised left knee Thursday night.
Rookie receiver Anthony Gonzalez returned from a broken thumb and was in the starting lineup after sitting out two games.
PACKERS' WOODSON LEAVES TURKEY DAY GAME: Cornerback Charles Woodson sustained a toe injury on a 34-yard punt return for the Green Bay Packers late in the first quarter Thursday against Detroit.
Woodson jogged off the field, had X-rays and didn't return.
"It's not broken, but it hurts," he said after Green Bay beat the Lions 37-26.
OTHER INJURIES: Green Bay Packers free safety Nick Collins was inactive because of a knee injury. Also, Packers defensive end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila sustained an ankle injury in the first half and did not return.
* The Lions made starting offensive tackle George Foster inactive and put Jonathan Scott in the lineup despite a broken thumb.
* Dallas receiver Patrick Crayton and Jets receiver Laveranues Coles missed Thursday's game because of ankle injuries sustained last weekend.
