Knox leads Falcons women

LAURINBURG -- For the second time this season the visiting St. Augustine's women's basketball team rallied from a five-point second-half deficit to beat St. Andrews Presbyterian College 55-43 on Saturday night.

The Falcons went on a 24-6 run in the second half to win their fifth straight game and improve to 6-2 on the season.

SAPC dropped its home-opener to fall to 1-4.

Erica Knox, who scored 16 of her game-high 19 points in the second half, capped the Falcons' decisive surge with a layup to give St. Augustine's its largest lead of the game at 13 points, 51-38.

Whitney Griffis added 13 points for the Falcons.

Erika Thompson was the only player to finish in double figures for St. Andrews, with 12 points.
