Davidson coach Bob McKillop has been selected as the head coach of the United States' team that will compete in this summer's FIBA Americas under-18 championship.McKillop will be assisted by Georgetown's John Thompson III and Virginia Commonwealth coach Anthony Grant. The competition will be held July 14-18 in Formosa, Argentina.McKillop led Davidson to a storybook run to the NCAA tournament's Midwest Regional final in March. The Wildcats lost a heartbreaker to eventual national champion Kansas.The U.S. needs to finish in the top four of July's competition to qualify for the 2009 world championship.
