HILLSBOROUGH - The town of Hillsborough has lifted voluntary water restrictions.

Due to the recent rains, Lake Orange is full, and Hillsborough's West Fork Eno Reservoir is 94.5 percent full. The town has more than a year of water remaining at its current usage rate.

Under the voluntary water restrictions, which took effect in October, customers were urged to reduce water usage by 10 percent.

"We have consistently achieved a 20 percent usage reduction during voluntary restrictions," Utilities Director Kenny Keel said.
