CARRBORO - Damage from fire, smoke and water was estimated at $200,000 after lightning hit a two-story house over the weekend.

The Carrboro Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to the house at 1604 Pathway Drive at 12:17 a.m. Saturday. The first unit to arrive reported heavy fire in the attic.

The Carrboro department responded with two engines and a shift commander. Chapel Hill dispatched two engines, and the New Hope Fire Department sent one engine and an air truck.

It took about 23 minutes to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported.
