Roy and Odelle Holley, residents of Raleigh since 1967, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 20. They were married in Brewton, Alabama, April 20, 1948. They were joined in their celebration by Odelle's sister, Betty Jean Golemon of Houston, TX; nieces Kerry Schwartz of San Francisco, Marcia Hartwig and her husband Jeff of Raleigh; nephews Dr. W.O. Greene of Nashville, Robert Ansley of Orlando, Dr. Larry Golemon of Arlington, VA; son and daughter-in-law Marc and Oppie Holley of Austin; daughter and son-in-law Becky and Vince Townsend of Kernersville, NC; daughter Robin Holley of Cary; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Katelyn and Will Armfield of High Point, NC; grandson Tim Townsend of Kernersville; and grandson Kyle Townsend of Kernersville. The Holleys have been active members of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities, for almost 50 years. Roy retired as a Colonel in the USAF in 1967 and then worked for the State of North Carolina and NCSU for another 20 years. Odelle is a homemaker, mother, and grandmother, who loved to bowl and create needlework.
