Sarah Barron Emmel and Grant Dean Turinsky were married on October 15, 2011 in Christ Church, Raleigh. The Reverend Jennifer C. Brown officiated. A reception hosted by the bride’s parents followed at the Capital City Club.
The bride is the daughter of Barbara Lee Barron and Thomas Edwin Emmel of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Wall Barron of Dalton, Georgia and the late Espy Lee Barron, Michaele Ann Emmel of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the late Edwin Louis Emmel and June Johnson Emmel.
The groom is the son of Paul and Karen Turinsky of Raleigh. He is the granson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James C. DeLuca and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Josef Turinsky.
Sarah Gransee Arnaudin served as matron of honor. Bridal attendants were Anna Lepie Rosch, Beth Turinsky Bumgarner, sister of the groom, Elizabeth Michelle Stamas, Angela Lanzafama Sweeney, Lee Anne Doss Blackmon, Neda Jreisat Russell, and Melissa Wilkinson DeHaven. Jack Dean Stamas and John Edward Sandor, Jr. were ring bearers.

Harold Watson Bowles, Jr. served as best man. Groomsmen were John Edward Sandor, Jeffrey Steven Webb, Samuel Boyde Bristow, Jason Farinholt Bowles and Jonathan Paul Bumgarner. Trevor Mitchell Clifton, cousin of the bride, served as usher.
Ashley Marie Amey and Annie Lloyd Wallace Nesbitt were readers. Lawrence, Katherine, Rachel and Samuel Makepeace served as greeters.
The bride’s mother hosted a cookout at her home on Thursday evening for family and members of the wedding party. On Friday, the bride’s aunt, Trudy Barron Clifton, hosted a bridesmaids luncheon at Second Empire. That evening, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in Vaughn Towers at North Carolina State University’s Carter-Finley Stadium. On Sunday, Carol Vatz and Joel Rosch hosted a farewell brunch for family and out-of-town guests.
Following a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Raleigh.
