Madry - Walston

Sarah Thomas Walston and Randall Hayden Hathaway Madry, Jr. of Raleigh were united in marriage Saturday, April 18, 2015 at five-thirty in the afternoon at First United Methodist Church in Wilson. The Reverend David Bennett Williams, brother-in-law of the bride, officiated. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dred Stuart Walston, Jr. of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Henry Grady Thomas and the late Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Dred Stuart Walston and the late Mr. Walston, all of Wilson. The bride is a graduate of Fike High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication. She was presented at the 2002 North Carolina Terpsichorean Debutante Ball. Prior to the wedding, she was Communications Coordinator at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Hayden Hathaway Madry of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Raymond Madry, Jr. of Raleigh and the late Mr. James Walter Hathaway of Oklahoma City. He is also the grandson of Mrs. William Marsh Sanders, III and the late Mr. Sanders of Raleigh. The groom is a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and Duke University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He is currently the eCommerce Operations Lead for Lenovo's Asia-Pacific Division.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Anna Walston Williams, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Dutterer Hargrove and Katherine Monaghan Nisbet, both of Raleigh, Heather Davis Fitts of Wendell, and Sara Ann Gallagher of Palm Beach, Florida.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Frank Donald Nelms, III and John Hughes Scott, both of Raleigh, Nathan Andrew Cooper of Washington, DC and Cameron Lykes Johnson of Atlanta. Serving as ushers were William Walton Gibbons of Raleigh and William Howard McBride, Jr. of Charlotte.

Margaret Sarah Williams, niece of the bride, was flower girl and David Stuart Williams, nephew of the bride, was junior groomsman. Lindsay Dekich Ratushny of Brookline, Massachusetts served as program attendant.

The couple will honeymoon and reside in Singapore.
