Abigail Arbes Murnick and Patrick Buchanan Jones were united in marriage on Saturday, June 20th, 2015, at eleven o’clock at St. Mary's Chapel in Chatham, Virginia. The Reverend Lisa Hebacker officiated. Following the ceremony, the bride’s father hosted a reception at Chatham Hall.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. Elliott Paul Murnick of Raleigh and the late Mrs. Anne Arbes Murnick. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Samuel James Arbes and the late Mr. Arbes of Cary and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Harold Murnick of Raleigh.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Watson Jones of Summerfield. He is the grandson of Mrs. George Gordon Jones and the late Mr. Jones of Gaviota, California and Mrs. Jack Clinton Bradford Smith and the late Mr. Smith of Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Anna Claire Murnick Price, sister of the bride, of Raleigh served as matron of honor. Robert William Jones, brother of the groom, of Greenville served as best man. Ushers were cousins of the groom, Bryan Ravenscroft Jones of Boston, Massachusetts and Trevor Jackson Smith of Naperville, Illinois. Cooper Lee Chapman of Raleigh, served as flower girl.
Greeters were cousins of the bride, Hope Vogler Dooley, of Greensboro and Sarah Elizabeth Arbes, of Apex. Scripture reader was Elizabeth Maureen Berry, sister of the groom, of Richmond, Virginia.
The bride graduated from Chatham Hall and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received a Master's degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was presented by the Terpsichorean Club at the 2007 North Carolina Debutante Ball. She is employed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with American Anesthesiology at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. The groom graduated from Greensboro Day School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is employed as Senior Sales at Farmtrade, LLC.
Following a honeymoon trip to Spain the couple will reside in Raleigh.
