Jane Athalea Langford Porter and Ross MacNeill Rosar, both of Raleigh, were married in Wilmington at the home of the bride's parents, the Alexander Sprunt House, on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. The Rev. Hannah Vaughan officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Porter, Jr. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Porter of Tarboro, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark Langford Thompson of London, England.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Carl Rosar of Raleigh. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Malcolm Arey of Raleigh, and the late Ms. Bonnie Arey of Raleigh, and the late Mr. Howard Rosar and Mrs. Martha Baker, of Glendale, CA.
Matron of Honor was Christina Ruth Langford Harris of Scaynes Hill, West Sussex, England, aunt of the bride. Bridesmaids were Aida Khoury of High Point, Aimee Blanchet of Raleigh, Ashley Swing of Raleigh and Madelyn Burkart of Winston-Salem.
Gary Wells of Raleigh, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were John Rosar, brother of the groom, of Raleigh, Burt Harden of Raleigh, Anthony Johnson of Rolesville and Thomas McManus of Anchorage, Alaska.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Alexander Sprunt House.
The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Pilot House in Wilmington. Mrs. Julia Miller and Dr. Marcia Szewczyk, both of Winston-Salem, hosted a bridal shower at the Tupelo Honey Café in Raleigh. Mrs. Susie Ranes of Annapolis, MD hosted a bridesmaid's luncheon at the Oceanic on Wrightsville Beach.
The bride is a graduate of the International School of Luxembourg, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She works at IndyWeek in Raleigh.
The groom is a graduate of Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh, and North Carolina State University. He works at Phononic Devices in Durham.
The couple will reside in Raleigh.
