Brooke Marie Bitler and William Tyler Poole were married on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raleigh. Officiating the wedding were The Reverend John J. Forbes of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and The Reverend Anna Rainey Dickson of First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh. The bride's parents hosted a reception following the ceremony at Carolina Country Club. A rehearsal dinner was hosted on Friday evening by the groom's parents at The Umstead Hotel and Spa.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Franklin Bitler, Jr. of Raleigh and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl R. Lowendick and Dr. Glenn F. Bitler and the late Mrs. Bitler, all of Raleigh.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Claire Brown Poole of Raleigh and Dr. and Mrs. Terry W. Poole of Cary and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter William Brown of Gaffney, S.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Elvin Poole of Thomasville, N.C. Presented in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted by her father. Amanda Dorothea Bitler and Mary Morgan Bitler, sisters of the bride, served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Elisabeth Robbins Bradley, Logan Striebel Barber, Leah Naomi Mann Shell, Braden Christine Rawls, Elizabeth Poole Wilcox, sister of the groom, all of Raleigh and Katharine Kimmel Murphy, of Arlington, Va.
Russell Wayne Poole of Chicago, Ill. and Dr. Terry Wayne Poole of Cary, brother and father of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Glenn Franklin Bitler III, brother of the bride, Jared Miller Dutton, Alger Vason Hamrick IV, all of Raleigh; Marcus Livingston Johnson of Ottawa, Canada, Joseph Gilbert Moore Jr. of Kill Devil Hills, N.C. and Benjamin Michael Royster, of Winston-Salem, N.C.

Serving as readers were Catherine Coughlin Hauser, the bride’s cousin, of New York City and the Reverend Anna Dickson. Program attendants were Christina Lanzone Aluri of Chapel Hill, Katherine Patterson Maloney of Wake Forest and Mary Katherine McNeill of Tarrytown, N.Y., cousin of the bride. Flower girls were Ella Grace Zarnik, Margaret Knight Dutton and Emily Knight Dutton, all of Raleigh. Wedding music was provided by Nan Dickman, organist, Zack May, cellist and Dr. Larry Wells, trumpet.
The bride is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and works for G&S Business Communications in Raleigh. She was presented at the 2005 North Carolina Debutante Ball sponsored by the Terpsichorean Club of Raleigh. The groom graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and he is employed as an energy trader with ACES Power in Raleigh. After a honeymoon trip to Italy the couple will reside in Raleigh.
