Shelves are being stocked at Quail Ridge Books’ new home – and it’s first author event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday. Mystery writer Elizabeth George will do the honors. George, who lives in Washington, writes crime novels set in Great Britain. Her works have been translated into 30 languages and her series featuring Scotland Yard Detective Inspector Thomas Lynley and Detective Sergeant Barbara Havers was turned into a BBC series. She’s in Raleigh promoting her latest Lynley mystery, “A Banquet of Consequences.” The new store is at 4209-100 Lassiter Mill Road in Raleigh. If for some reason (the paint’s not dry, perhaps) the new story isn’t ready to host, the event will return to Quail Ridge’s temporary space at North Hills. Check its website for any last-minute changes.
