Dewey Brown is a businessman and a world-class fiddler. He learned to take care of business from his former employer, the late Ralph Stanley, for whom he played fiddle for some 19 years. Music is his life, so Brown opened a music venue in Liberty Showcase Theatre in Alamance County. And just down the road from there, he hosts DeweyFest, the two-day bluegrass festival happening Friday and Saturday at Maplewood Hills on Highway 49 near Burlington. Friday’s lineup features bluegrass gospel with the Churchmen and area favorites, the Bass Mountain Boys. On Saturday, Bobby Osborne and Nathan Stanley are among the performers.
