Classical Picks: NC Symphony and New Music Raleigh perform together

The N.C. Symphony and New Music Raleigh combine forces to present the premiere of D.J. Sparr’s “…to me from the earth…,” a site specific composition inspired by Thomas Sayre’s “White Gold” exhibition at CAM Raleigh. Conductor Jeanette Sorrell leads the chamber-sized ensemble in three weekend performances, as well as two performances of Bach’s Double Violin Concerto and works by Handel and Mozart (Friday afternoon in Meymandi Concert Hall and Sunday evening in UNC’s Memorial Hall).
