Jazz Picks: Masego brings TrapHouseJazz to Beyu Caffe

On Friday, TrapHouseJazz multi-instrumentalist Masego (real name Micah Davis) comes to Beyu Caffe in Durham. Masego is a vocalist who also plays cello, trumpet, drums, guitar and piano, but he specializes in the saxophone, both alto and tenor. As was written in his recent feature in Blavity, “He's got the swagger of Anderson.Paak, the musical chops of Terrance Martin and the new-jack-funk of a guy so far ahead of his time, he's about to pass you twice. . . . Think sax with a Metro Boomin twist.” Shows are at 8 and 10 p.m. and tickets are $15 per show. For more information visit beyucaffe.com.
