The week spanning Christmas day to New Year’s Eve is generally musically dark in the Triangle’s clubs and listening rooms. But on Wednesday, Durham’s Original Q Shack will serve up the tunes that go down easy with pork and hushpuppies. Leroy Savage, consensus All-American “Grandfather of Newgrass Music,” will hold forth with selections from Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, Bob Dylan and other anchors of traditional music. You never know who might drop by with their instruments to join in the fun, but you can be sure that enjoyment – both culinary and musical – will be had by all.
Music begins as 6:30 p.m. Find directions (and menu) at theqshackoriginal.com.
