The Outliers, a bluegrass-based quintet, expands beyond traditional ’grass to include diverse influences along with original, genre-bending songs. An experienced band that features former members of the New Deal String Band as well as Bill Monroe’s Blue Grass Boys, the Outliers bring a fresh yet familiar sound to any stage.

- On Saturday, Boston’s Mile Twelve bluegrass group performs at 5 p.m. at Bond Park’s Sertoma Amphitheatre in Cary.
- The Johnny Folsom 4 pay homage to the Man in Black Sunday at 5 p.m. at Joyner Park Amphitheatre in Wake Forest, as part of the town’s Six Sundays in Spring Concert Series.
- Leroy Savage and Friends will provide the music Wednesday evening at Durham’s Original Q Shack.
- And Thursday, Carolina Lightnin’ holds forth at Durham’s Blue Note Grill.
