No. 7 The Carter Family wonders how the old folks are



Continuing on to Number 7 in our pre-IBMA “Bluegrass for Beginners” countdown, we come to another venerable song in a key of nostalgia: “I Wonder How the Old Folks Are at Home,” an old spiritual adapted and popularized by the Carter Family back when they were more or less inventing country music.

Here we have what is arguably the best version, by Mac Wiseman — a bluegrass singer known as “The Voice With a Heart.”
