The Rolling Stones’ upcoming U.S. tour includes a July 1 date at NC State University’s Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh. That’s the unofficial word in this report, which notes that the news might become official within the next few days.
Ray Brincefield, assistant athletic director of facilities at NC State, would not confirm the date or whether the Stones were playing Raleigh at all.
“I don’t think we have a comment,” Brincefield said Tuesday afternoon. “That’s about all I should say about it right now.”
The Stones last played the Triangle in 2005, a concert at Duke University’s Wallace Wade Stadium. Carter-Finley has not had a concert since U2 played there in October 2009.
