Like a lot of music fans across North Carolina, Avett Brothers bassist Bob Crawford dutifully bought tickets for the Rolling Stones’ July 1 Raleigh date around the time they went on sale earlier this spring. As it turns out, however, he won’t need them.
The Avett Brothers have been announced as opening act for the Stones’s show at Carter-Finley Stadium -- just across the parking lot from PNC arena, where the Avetts rang in 2015 with a New Year’s Eve. For those who already have tickets, the Avetts addition is a nice bonus. And for those who have been holding out, it’s one more reason to go ahead and get tickets.
Seems like there’s at least one bass player who might have a few to unload.
