Between Tuesday’s announcements about the Avett Brothers opening for the Rolling Stones and the Hopscotch band list, it’s been an action-packed 24 hours for large-scale concert news in the Triangle. And here’s yet another announcement, the partial lineup for the Wide Open Bluegrass shows happening Oct. 2-3 at downtown Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater as part of IBMA’s World of Bluegrass:
Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen

Kruger Brothers (plus special guests)
Claire Lynch Band
Band of Ruhks
Steep Canyon Rangers
Orthophonic Joy: The 1927 Bristol Sessions Revisited
That last one is a wild card that will probably draw in another big name or two, since it’s based on an upcoming tribute album with guests including Dolly Parton, Steve Martin, Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris. I’d expect some of those will be among the other Red Hat acts to be announced next month.
The lineup for the free street festival is still pending, while IBMA’s lineup for the “Bluegrass Ramble” club-show part of the program is already out.
