We were hoping this would happen.
Earlier this year, a few of us on the News & Observer staff undertook an ambitious project -- remaking the iconic and widely popular video for the Connells’ 1993 hit “’74-’75,” by updating it with new footage and pictures shot of all the original subjects. I’m delighted to report that the BBC radio network in England took notice, which makes sense given the song’s huge popularity in Europe in the mid-1990s.
BBC host John Foster interviewed me as well as one of the video’s class-of-’75 subjects, standup comic Frank King, for a segment that aired earlier on Monday. Take a listen here, or below. And if you haven’t already, please check out our video and the accompanying stories that explain it.
