Well, that didn’t take long.
Tickets for Garth Brooks’ March 11-12 shows at Raleigh’s PNC Arena went on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern Time Friday -- whereupon a third show was immediately announced mere minutes later, scheduled for March 13. That’s one way to battle scalpers.
The first two shows were sold-out by 11 a.m., although there were still VIP tickets priced at (gulp) $2,500-$3,500 each available for both. As of 11:25 a.m., regular $74.98 tickets for the third show were still available at Ticketmaster .
Will be interesting to see how long that is the case…

UPDATE (1:15 p.m.): Well, now tickets are available again for all three shows. When I asked for an explanation from Brooks’ representatives, they responded thusly:
We want to give the fans the best available tickets at that time. We will take a show off sale at that point and then open shows back up.
