April Fool’s Day seems like a peculiar date for a high-school class reunion, but it’s for real: Members of Broughton High School’s class of 1975 will belatedly gather for their 40-year reunion Friday night at the Wake County Shrine Club in Raleigh.

They’ll have at least one thing to talk about, last fall’s remake of the Connells’ “’74-’75” video, an iconic piece of history for Broughton as well as the local music scene. Directed by Mark Pellington, the original video came out in 1993 and featured then-and-now shots of members of Broughton’s class of 1975. The song and video became a huge hit in Europe, topping charts and winning awards across the continent.

To mark the class of ’75’s 40-year anniversary, last November we updated the video with circa-2015 shots of most of the participants. You can watch that video here, and also catch up with the cast of characters here.
