Meals at the malls

Plan on shopping at the new malls this holiday season? Curious about what dining options (other than the food court fare) they'll offer? Here's a peek. Note: Sit-down dining options are still limited at Triangle Town Center. Look for more restaurants to open in 2003.

TRIANGLE TOWN CENTER, RALEIGH

California Pizza Kitchen: Gourmet pies, with toppings from Peking duck to Santa Fe chicken; also salads, sandwiches and desserts.

Champps Americana: Half-pound burgers, pub munchies and other all-American fare in a sports bar with giant plasma screens.

THE STREETS AT SOUTHPOINT, DURHAM

California Pizza Kitchen: Same as at Triangle Town Center.

Champps Americana: Same as at Triangle Town Center.

Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill: American and Southwestern fare in a ski lodge setting.

Maggiano's Little Italy: Lotsa pasta and other Italian fare, from veal Marsala to chicken Parmesan, served on -- what else? -- red checked tablecloths.

Nordstrom Bistro: Salads, sandwiches, pastas and brick oven entrees in an upscale casual setting in Nordstrom department store.

Panera Bread: Fresh baked breads star in everything from sandwiches to soups served in sourdough bread bowls.
