Constantine (10 p.m., NBC) - The premiere of a new series in which a seasoned demon hunter ( Matt Ryan) gets pulled back into battling hellish creatures to help the daughter of an old friend. If he succeeds, he may save his own damned soul. Harold Perrineau (“Lost”) plays his guardian angel. Adrienne reviewed this and found it lacking. The pilot, she said, doesn’t tell us enough about John Constantine to make us invest in his story. You can read her capsule review of “Constantine” here.

Also on tonight . . .

Grimm (9 p.m., NBC) - In the Season 4 premiere, Nick adjusts to the loss of his Grimm powers and tries to figure out how to deal with Trubel. Meanwhile, a new group of Wesen come to Portland and steal people’s memories, and Capt. Renard fights for his life. Finally, Adalind’s desperation to find her child lands her in Prince Viktor’s clutches.

Great Performances: Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga (9pm, UNC-TV) - In “Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek LIVE,” the timeless crooner and the avant garde pop star perform together at Lincoln Center in New York.

Blue Bloods (10 p.m ., CBS) - A woman’s abusive boyfriend targets Jamie after he gets involved in one of their domestic disputes.

Z Nation (10 p.m., Syfy) - The survivors struggle to recover from the shocking death of a major character in last week’s strong episode.
